Gourmet Sauvage
Packaging

I’m a graphic designer based in Quebec with a curious mindset and a passion for exploration, specializing in brand identity, publication design, and advertising. I draw inspiration from unexpected places and translate those references into concept-driven, visually cohesive systems. I focus on establishing a strong overall art direction for each project, ensuring it communicates a unified narrative rather than a single isolated idea. Every project is supported by a foundation of visual research that informs and anchors the visual language.

This project involved designing a sample packaging concept for Gourmet Sauvage, a company that offers a wide range of wild, foraged products harvested across Canada and artisanally processed in the Laurentians. The sample focused on Boréal Night, a product inspired by the flavors of the boreal forest. The goal was to develop packaging that reflects the brand’s connection to nature, its respect for the environment, and its commitment to artisanal craftsmanship while clearly communicating the story behind the product.
The design emphasizes the brand’s connection to foraging and artisanal craftsmanship. Cotton paper was selected for its natural tone and texture, avoiding the stark white look of bleached paper and reinforcing the organic quality of the product. Layered die-cuts reveal the tea inside while symbolically referencing the forest floor, where leaves, pine needles, and moss gradually build up over time.A sleeve structure holds the envelope containing the tea, using a slightly different hue to highlight the layered effect and add depth to the packaging. The typography remains intentionally minimal so it does not overpower the tactile elements. A blind embossing of a fir branch completes the design, allowing the natural texture of the paper to reflect the subtle beauty of the forest.
