I’m a graphic designer based in Quebec with a curious mindset and a passion for exploration, specializing in brand identity, publication design, and advertising. I draw inspiration from unexpected places and translate those references into concept-driven, visually cohesive systems. I focus on establishing a strong overall art direction for each project, ensuring it communicates a unified narrative rather than a single isolated idea. Every project is supported by a foundation of visual research that informs and anchors the visual language.

Challenge

This project involved designing the publication layout for a cookbook titled Rituals for Cardinal Editions. The book explores pagan and Wiccan cooking traditions, focusing on ingredients believed to hold natural energies and symbolic meaning. It highlights the connection between food, nature, and intention, while also celebrating generational knowledge and the rituals that are passed down through cooking like the quiet magic of preparing a home-cooked meal with family.

Solution

The cookbook was designed to embody the spiritual and natural essence of Wiccan traditions, emphasizing connection, energy, and everyday magic. A central design focus was to avoid common clichés, creating a publication that feels warm, approachable, and rooted in community. The layout carefully balances hierarchy and readability, using clean typography, generous spacing, and organic textures to guide the reader’s eye and create a sense of calm. Earthy color palettes and hand-drawn illustrations contribute a folksy, artisanal quality, highlighting the human touch behind each recipe and making the book feel crafted rather than mass-produced. Thoughtful pairing of recipes with reflections on seasonal ingredients and their symbolic meanings integrates form and content, allowing the design to support both practical use and spiritual exploration. By combining these elements, the cookbook achieves a cohesive, immersive experience that celebrates ritual, mindfulness, and the beauty of shared connection.
